Job Description

  1. Perform diagnostic tests and inspections on farm implements and agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, planters, and sprayers, to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
  2. Repair, adjust, or replace defective parts or components of farm implements and machinery, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, PTO shafts, and control systems, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  3. Conduct routine maintenance tasks on farm implements, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  4. Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems and implement appropriate repair solutions.
  5. Operate computerized diagnostic equipment and software to analyze equipment performance, diagnose faults, and calibrate systems for optimal efficiency and accuracy.
  6. Fabricate or weld metal components as needed to repair or modify farm implements, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards.
  7. Test repaired equipment to verify proper functioning and performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal operation and customer satisfaction.
  8. Maintain detailed records of repair work, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, using electronic or paper-based documentation systems.
  9. Provide technical support and assistance to farmers or equipment operators in the field, including troubleshooting equipment problems, offering maintenance advice, and demonstrating proper equipment operation.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and manufacturer specifications for farm implements and machinery, attending training sessions or workshops as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies in all aspects of job performance, including proper handling of hazardous materials and disposal of waste products.
