Job Description

  1. Operate and maintain application equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and other specialized machinery, to accurately apply agronomy products such as fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to crops.
  2. Follow agronomic prescriptions and application maps to ensure precise and efficient product placement while minimizing environmental impact and maximizing crop yield potential.
  3. Conduct pre-operation equipment checks and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition and compliant with safety standards.
  4. Calibrate application equipment to deliver the correct product rate and coverage according to crop type, growth stage, and application requirements.
  5. Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines for handling and applying agronomy products, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to chemical handling procedures.
  6. Monitor weather conditions, wind speed, and environmental factors to assess applicability windows and determine optimal timing for application to minimize drift and ensure product efficacy.
  7. Record accurate application data, including product usage, field conditions, and weather observations, using electronic or paper-based record-keeping systems.
  8. Communicate effectively with customers, agronomy sales staff, and other team members to coordinate application schedules, address customer inquiries, and provide updates on job progress.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in custom application techniques.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance in all aspects of job performance, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
