Tax Provision Manager - Chicago or Decatur, IL

Job Description
This position will prepare and manage the consolidated quarterly and annual tax provision under ASC 740 for a large multinational corporation.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the consolidated quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740 including the worldwide effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, calculation allowance and tax footnote
  • Prepare quarterly tax provision memos
  • Maintain SOX control documentation and processes
  • Ensure proper purchase price accounting and compliance reporting of M&A transactions
  • Oversee, coordinate and prepare the global interim and year-end tax provision
  • Prepare and review tax account reconciliation as needed
  • Gather data and prepare schedules for financial statement auditors
  • Conduct tax research
  • Assist with other projects as necessary
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and MST or equivalent experience preferred
Job Skills & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of diverse tax experience in a fast-paced environment, with Big 4 accounting firm experience and corporate/in-house experience with US-based multinational company
  • Extensive experience with domestic income tax compliance and tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 for US-based multinational corporations; international experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to be hands-on, resourceful, detail-oriented, and results-oriented
  • Effective project management skills and ability to manage high-pressure situations and make critical decisions amidst shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with management, staff and external resources
  • Knowledge of CorpTax provision preferred
