This role is for you if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Crop Advisor
  • Have or willing to obtain Class A CDL with Hazmat and doubles/triples endorsements
  • Have or willing to obtain Custom Applicators license with 1A, 1B, 1C and seed treatment

The Sales Agronomist Associate position is an entry level position that will work in both Agronomy Sales and Agronomy Operations for Key Cooperative. This position will grow agronomy market and wallet share by actively calling on Key Agronomy Accounts under the guidance of the Sales & Marketing Manager and Sales Agronomist. This position will also grow agronomy market and wallet share by performing a high-level service for Key Agronomy Accounts through product delivery, custom application and other operational duties under the guidance of the Sales Agronomist and Location Manager. All of this while maintaining Key Cooperative's profitability.

Sales
  • Working with guidance of the Sales Agronomist and Sales & Marketing Manager to grow market share by servicing and closing sales with current accounts;
  • Working with guidance of the Sales Agronomist and Sales & Marketing Manager to grow market share by identifying and closing sales with prospective accounts.
  • Working with the Sales Agronomist and Sales & Marketing Manager to grow market share with call plans, strategy and status updates.
  • Servicing accounts after with a high level of expertise in Crop Production including Crop Nutrient, Crop Protection, Seed and Precision Ag.
  • Servicing accounts after the sale with a high level of communication and cooperation with the Location Manager and Sales Agronomist.
  • Servicing accounts through proper accounting and operational procedures.
  • Servicing accounts through proper billing and pricing procedures
  • Adhering to Key Cooperative pricing, policies and credit terms.

Marketing and Sales Development
  • Attending continuing education on a regular basis to improve sales and agronomic skills. This includes internal meetings, supplier meetings and industry conferences.
  • Assisting in Key Cooperative Agronomy Marketing Program. This may include assisting with newsletters, advertising, field days, grower conferences and other marketing activities.
  • Participating in the Key Cooperative Intern program. This may include assisting at career fairs, assisting with onboarding, assisting with mentoring and assisting with intern events.
  • Participating in the Key Cooperative internal trial program with current and prospective accounts.
  • Promoting sustainable agriculture platforms, such as Truterra.
  • Promoting Key Cooperative seed brands through field signing.
  • Promoting Centrol Precision Ag division as well as current precision ag platforms.

Operations and General Responsibilities
  • Assisting with inventory counts and reconciliation of agronomy products.
  • Performing the following operational duties under the guidance of the Location Manager, which may include maintenance of equipment, plant, rolling stock, operation of forklifts, loaders, operating tender trucks, filling and delivering NH3 tanks, loading customers' vehicles with product and custom application.
  • Supporting the vision, mission and values of Key Cooperative.
  • Accepting all other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Sales & Marketing Manager, Sales Agronomist and Location Manager.
