Corteva Agriscience, proud owner of Chesapeake Farms, currently, has an opening for an experienced cook at the conference center. The primary purpose of this position is to plan and provide consistent, quality meals, manage inventory and ordering as well as other services for our guests as needed, including housekeeping.
The 3,300 acres of Chesapeake Farms are devoted to show casing all of Corteva's business platforms and its commitment to stewardship. In addition, our guest facilities provide overnight accommodations and meals for Corteva meetings and customer events.

Scope:
Job requires meals being prepared for guests early morning, late evening and weekend hours (during peak season). All work is performed at Chesapeake Farms, Chestertown, MD. Individual must live within 30-minute drive time of Chesapeake Farms.

What You'll Do:
  • Will be responsible for inventory levels and ordering
  • Must make decisions regarding meal planning, appropriate amount of food to prepare and timely service
  • Guide and oversee cook staff
  • Prep food and cook scheduled meals for onsite guests (up to occasionally 200 guests) of the Chesapeake Farms Conference Center and hunting program
  • Thoroughly clean commercial quality kitchen after scheduled shift/meal.
  • Must be willing to housekeep guest rooms, conference rooms, lounges, restrooms and all other areas of guest and office facilities, as needed
Qualifications

What Skills You Need:
  • A minimum of high school diploma/GED required
  • Five to ten years of experience with cooking hot and cold food items
  • Have the ability to lift up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willing and able to work most weekends (during peak season)
  • Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend recipe instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to follow and explain standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work area
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $25 - $32 hourly. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
