Litigation and Product Liability group of
GLSGRA located at
Deere & Company World Headquarters in
Moline, Illinois you will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to the Product Liability Litigation and Toxic Tort Group on product liability related counseling, claims and lawsuits.
- Provide research, legal and/or recommendations, and alternatives for the more complex legal questions and issues in support of defending Deere in product liability and toxic tort claims and lawsuits.
- Review legal documents for compliance with applicable laws.
- Stay current on emerging trends in the law through continuing legal education, reading, professional conferences, and participating in professional associations
Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need- 1 or more years of experience in the general practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department
- 1 or more years of litigation experience
- 1 or more years of experience reviewing and analyzing legal pleadings and briefs
What Makes You Stand Out- Has a good understanding of legal principles and can independently use the knowledge to provide advice and counsel to business clients
- Understands legal issues affecting area of responsibility, able to identify issues associated with assigned tasks, and able to spot relevant critical issues in practice
- Excellent client management skills and the ability to support Deere internal clients on a range of issues
- Oversee litigation and dispute resolution process on Toxic Tort matters
- Ability to perform legal research using the internet plus various on-line tools
- Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and client management
- Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style
Education- Juris Doctorate degree
- Authorized to practice law in the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain a limited license to practice law as inhouse counsel in the State of Illinois
