Job Description QC Specialist - Memphis, TNThis is a salaried non - exempt level position
Job Summary- Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to the specifications of quality and purity.
- This position reports to the QC/QFS Manager.
Essential Job Functions- Trouble shoot and perform maintenance, calibrations and validations on laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, IC, Karl Fisher and Titrators.
- Assist in method development for new testing and method improvements.
- Participate in the training and development of laboratory technicians.
- Write and update laboratory procedures.
- Track and maintain laboratory inventory.
- Support all plant and company safety, environmental, and quality initiatives.

Job Qualifications- Previous experience with running and maintaining lab instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, IC, Karl Fisher, Titrators and other basic laboratory equipment is preferred.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or similar discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a food safety or FDA regulated environment is preferred.
- Candidate must be detail oriented with strong documentation and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
- Must be capable of working from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Walk to all levels and areas of the process plant and work through seasonal temperature changes
- Must be available for phone technical support 24/7 and come in for emergency maintenance issues as needed.
