Production Operator - Litchfield, MN

To operate the packaging room in a manner that ensures product safety, quality, and process efficiency utilizing applicable SOP's and cGMP's.

Working Relationships: Packaging Operators will have regular communication with other Packaging Operators. This position reports to the Production Supervisor/Lead. Packaging Operators must maintain a positive, safe, and professional work environment with all co-workers.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Knowledge of use of batch record, sampling and testing product. Must possess documentation accuracy.
  • Knowledge of all equipment such as scales, sealer, rotap, conveyor belt, moisture analyzer.
  • Knowledge of "approved" raw materials for use.
  • Provide assistance in training new employees when you reach a qualified operator.
  • Fill out maintenance work order request forms for packaging equipment when in need of repair. Monitor and ensure that all repairs made to equipment are recorded in the appropriate logbook.
  • A smooth continuous workflow and maintain work area in a clean and safe manner at all times.
  • Stacking and labeling bags or drums of finished product on appropriate pallets.
  • Must assist on daily and weekly sanitation schedule.
  • Assemble and disassemble packaging room for cleaning and production.
  • Assist with major clean of dryer, debagging room, and packaging room.
  • Safe operation of a forklift when moving raw or finished product in warehouse.
  • Will be unloading trucks such as empty drums.
  • Perform duties in a manner that will not compromise the Safety / Quality / Integrity / Security of raw materials, packaging components, finished product, and equipment.
  • Alert the Production Supervisor /Lead of any incident that may impact the Safety / Quality / Integrity / Security of raw materials, packaging components, and finished product.
  • Empowered to act within the scope of their responsibilities to resolve the impact of these issues immediately.
  • Report suspicious activity or unusual observations to your direct Supervisor/Lead.
  • Follow proper SOP's, cGMPs, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen, Food Safety Culture, and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
