Industrial Transformation (IX) - Remote Operations Engineer

Location: Onsite Decatur, IL

Summary:
The Manufacturing Analytics & Transformation team is charged with leveraging process control strategy design, advanced process control, advanced manufacturing data analytics, and industrial transformation to drive continuous improvement in process operations.
The Remote Operations Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health and performance of our manufacturing operations. This position requires a strong background in monitoring data systems, data pipelines, and a deep understanding of full stack design and development. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain / Sustain robust health monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement health monitoring solutions for new and existing systems using platforms like AVEVA PI Suite, Edge & Cloud Stack and Azure IoT Services.
  • Proactively monitor various solutions, identifying and logging issues, and escalating, as necessary.
  • Manage operations KPI (Key Performance Indicators) scorecards for products deployed by the Manufacturing Analytics and Transformation team, both directly and indirectly.
  • Continuously improve monitoring capabilities to create more robust and informative systems.
  • Provide L1 or L2 support for issues, escalating to subject matter experts as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of monitoring solutions.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends in data monitoring and analytics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience. Plant operations experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience in monitoring data systems, data producers, and data pipelines within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of full stack design and development using AVEVA PI Suite, Edge stack (MQTT Broker, Influx DB, Node Red, Grafana), Cloud and Azure IoT Services.
  • Strong understanding of full stack design and development using AVEVA PI Suite, Edge, Cloud and Azure IoT Services.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills working with architecture, design, and development teams.
  • Willingness to learn new solutions and create support model
  • Maintain L3 Contractor / Vendor support model, contract management and license management coordinating with procurement team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with manufacturing Data management, Data ingestion, Visualization tools & data analytics.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, Edge, and control systems.

Travel:
Up to 25 - 50% travel required.
