Corteva Agriscience is looking for a passionate Senior Research Associate to join the Protein Core Facility team. The Protein Core Facility provides protein expression, purification, and characterization support for discovery research, product development and regulatory studies. This position will support Corteva's R&D pipeline by applying their skills and expertise in protein biochemistry to produce and characterize recombinant protein, bringing new technologies in protein science field.

The ideal candidate will be someone who desires to be an integral member of a dedicated protein production team, has scientific/technical skills in protein expression and purification, and is passionate about hands-on bench work to evaluate technologies, develop methods, solve problems, and find solutions.

Responsibilities - What You Will Do:
  • Performs protein expression and purification work and completes assigned projects within timeline.
  • Performs large-scale protein production independently or with a production team.
  • Develops production methods for new proteins and optimizes processes to improve recombinant protein production.
  • Evaluates new technologies in protein science, including but not limited to protein expression, separation, and analysis.
  • Responsible for the planning, executing, and completing assigned projects.
  • Works with group leader to establish project goals aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrates scientific and behavioral leadership in daily work.
  • Designs, performs, and evaluates process improvement experiments.
  • Performs various lab duties to support group function.
  • Promotes a safe and respectful working environment.
Qualifications

Requirements - What Skills You Need:
  • Master's degree in biochemistry or related fields with minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in protein expression and purification or a bachelor's degree with a minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Protein science knowledge and experience in protein characterization.
  • Experience with difficult proteins and a track record of producing such proteins is a plus.
  • Experience with protein expression and production in large-scale is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment; ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Passion for hands-on protein work, curiosity for learning new things and drive to overcome challenges are must to have.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
