Full-time Commodities & Trading Grain

Job Description

  • Purchase and sell grain commodities, such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and barley, based on market conditions, supply and demand dynamics, and customer needs.
  • Monitor commodity markets, including futures prices, basis levels, and global trends, to make informed buying and selling decisions.
  • Negotiate grain purchase and sale contracts with farmers, grain elevators, processors, and other market participants, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grain suppliers, buyers, and brokers to facilitate grain transactions and expand market reach.
  • Analyze and manage grain inventory levels, storage capacity, and transportation logistics to optimize profitability and minimize risk.
  • Coordinate grain logistics, including scheduling deliveries, arranging transportation, and managing storage facilities, to ensure timely and efficient movement of grain commodities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats in the grain industry.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including risk management, finance, and operations, to support grain trading activities and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and analysis on grain market trends, pricing trends, and trading performance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to industry regulations, trading standards, and ethical practices, and promote a culture of compliance and transparency in grain merchandising activities.
