Job Description
- Assist with various agricultural tasks, including field preparation, planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery, such as tractors, planters, sprayers, and harvesters, following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform manual labor tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading agricultural supplies, equipment, and harvested crops.
- Assist with irrigation and drainage systems, including installation, maintenance, and monitoring to ensure optimal soil moisture levels.
- Conduct soil sampling and testing, and assist with soil fertility management, including the application of fertilizers and soil amendments.
- Monitor crop health and pest/disease pressures, and assist with pest management activities, including scouting, trapping, and applying pesticides as directed.
- Participate in crop scouting and monitoring activities to identify issues early and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Follow agricultural best practices and safety procedures to protect crops, equipment, and personnel from potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and other team members to execute farm plans and achieve production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and storage areas, and assist with facility maintenance tasks as needed.
