Plant Manager - Headland, AL
This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:

This key role is responsible for leading all aspects of the operations for the Headland Peanut processing facility. You will have a leading role in driving operational excellence and developing a high-performance team. You set and maintain ADM/Golden Peanut's high standards for safety and quality for all departments while maintaining production and efficiency excellence. A good communicator who can nurture extraordinary interdepartmental, commercial and customer relationships will be most successful. He/she will have the ability to foster teams and leaders in identifying and sustainably solving problems.

The Plant Manager reports directly to the Operations Director and leads a site with approximately 60 operations colleagues.

Job Responsibilities:
Production:
  • Lead all aspects of a Peanut shelling including shelling and hull and fiber plants.
  • Develop a high-performance team by engaging, coaching and developing team members, and by driving accountability and ownership at all levels.
  • Responsible for environmental, health, safety, quality, efficiency and production of the plant and warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for meeting production requirements safely, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Lead and support performance excellence initiatives.
  • Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment to obtain performance.
  • Maintain cost controls and oversee budgets in each department.
  • Manage production personnel and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to obtain maximum capacity and performance with optimum yields and quality product.
  • Develop and implement a five-year capital plan in alignment with the business strategy.
Health, Safety & Environmental:
  • Maintain the license to operate by developing a strong site safety culture and by ensuring adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices.
  • Act as a role model for safety.
  • Work with the Safety and Environmental Center of Excellence and the regional and local management on the continued development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and contribute to audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.
  • Ensure that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected.
  • Maintain the necessary environmental, health, and safety records and documentation.
Sanitation/Food Safety:
  • Ensure the facility maintains world-class sanitation standards.
  • Continually improve and communicate food safety/sanitation/quality programs to plant supervisors and hourly employees.
  • Prepare the facility for, and participate in, regulatory/third party/customer/company audits.
Required Skills:
  • Four-year degree and a minimum of four years of supervisory experience with increasing manufacturing leadership responsibility, or a minimum of 5 years of hands-on, increasing production leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate for achievement and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated coaching and leadership skill
