Full-time Agronomy

Job Description

  1. Conduct field scouting and crop monitoring activities to assess crop health, growth stage, pest pressures, and nutrient deficiencies.
  2. Develop and implement agronomic plans and recommendations for crop production, including fertilizer applications, pest and disease management strategies, and irrigation scheduling.
  3. Analyze soil samples and interpret soil test results to determine nutrient levels, pH balance, and soil structure, and make recommendations for soil amendments and fertility management.
  4. Provide technical support and agronomic advice to farmers and agricultural producers, including crop selection, variety selection, and crop rotation planning.
  5. Conduct research trials and field experiments to evaluate new agronomic practices, crop varieties, and agricultural technologies for effectiveness and suitability in local growing conditions.
  6. Monitor and analyze agronomic data, including yield data, weather patterns, and input costs, to identify trends, optimize crop management practices, and improve farm profitability.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in agronomy, attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs as needed to enhance knowledge and skills.
  8. Collaborate with other agricultural professionals, including crop consultants, extension agents, and researchers, to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and address challenges facing the agricultural industry.
  9. Develop written reports, presentations, and educational materials to communicate agronomic research findings, recommendations, and best practices to farmers, industry stakeholders, and the public.
  10. Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies in all aspects of job performance, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of agronomic inputs, and compliance with pesticide regulations.
