Job Description Operations Supervisor - Destrehan, LAThis is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Summary:We are looking for a high potential individual ready to take on challenges and responsibilities at our Destrehan, LA grain processing facility. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent.
Job responsibilities: - Assist in scheduling of operations for the hourly staff
- Communicate operational procedures to hourly workforce
- Implement and enforce company programs, policies and procedures
- Ensure all colleagues are conducting operations safely and efficiently throughout each shift
- Contribute to the development of goals\operational procedures for the department and plant
- Perform daily facility walkthroughs and supervise hourly work staff on the daily progress
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections and document results on computer based programs
- Train colleagues to become proficient at jobs and tasks at the facility and sign off on performance qualifications
- Coordinate with Shift Supervisor and Grain Superintendent to develop a safe and efficient daily work plan for hourly staff on a shift basis.
Job Qualifications: To be considered for an opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dedication to ADM's goal of achieving a zero-injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures.
- Exhibit regular and prompt attendance.
- Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, shovel material and operate a vacuum.
- Willing to work rotating swing shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
- Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed.
- Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and supportive attitude.
- General computer knowledge (familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & web-based skills)
- Excellent oral/communication skills
- Leadership characteristics, able to motivate others and demonstrate team building skills.
- Dedicated involvement in safety
- Strong organization and documentation skills
- Able to obtain and possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) is a requirement per Homeland Security to access secure areas.
