Job Description MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT - CASSELTON, NDThis is a salaried, exempt level role.
POSITION SUMMARY:Oversee and coordinate maintenance operations of edible bean in the region. The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible to maintain dry edible processing and packaging equipment. The equipment must be kept in a manner to meet the safe, and successful day to day operational activities, while maintaining a sanitary work place in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, QA, etc.).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: - Plan and oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep of equipment within the facilities in conjunction with facility management
- Carry out inspections of equipment to identify and resolve issues in alignment with Preventive Maintenance Plans.
- Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed
- Monitor expenses, and assist facility management in controlling maintenance budgets.
- Complete and upload maintenance records
- Ensure Health and Safety polices are complied with
- Maintain food safety standards in accordance with Quality Assurance program.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for all facilities in the area.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple assignments/ tasks
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with production, administrative, sales, and management teams
- Assist in completing operational tasks at the facilities when required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in engineering and/or maintenance.
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance leadership in an agricultural or industrial processing environment required.
- Solid understanding of the technical aspects of industrial agricultural processing equipment, fabrication / welding, and electrical systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate high level problem solving and team working skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and inter-personal skills.
- Inter-personal skills include handling conflict, motivation, instructing and training personnel in a respectable and fair manner.
- Computer skills which include proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common business applications.
- The physical requirements of the position require the ability to climb stairs, periods of standing and setting, working in confined spaces, from heights, bending, kneeling, and the ability to lift 55lbs.
