Job Description

  1. Operate a variety of farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, combines, planters, sprayers, and harvesters, to perform field operations such as planting, cultivating, spraying, harvesting, and hauling.
  2. Follow instructions and work orders from farm managers or supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely completion of planting, harvesting, and other seasonal operations.
  3. Conduct pre-operation equipment checks and routine maintenance tasks to ensure machinery is in optimal working condition, including lubricating, fueling, and inspecting for wear or damage.
  4. Safely and effectively operate tractor-mounted implements and attachments, such as plows, cultivators, seeders, and mowers, to prepare soil, plant crops, and manage vegetation.
  5. Monitor machinery performance and field conditions during operations, adjusting equipment settings and operation techniques as needed to achieve desired outcomes and minimize waste.
  6. Operate precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance systems, auto-steer, and variable rate application equipment, to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and input use.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines for equipment operation, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe driving practices, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  8. Assist with general farm tasks and maintenance activities as needed, such as fence repair, irrigation system maintenance, and facility upkeep, to support overall farm operations.
  9. Communicate effectively with farm managers, coworkers, and other team members to coordinate tasks, report equipment issues, and ensure efficient workflow.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in farm machinery operation, attending training sessions or workshops as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
