Chemical Operator - Monroe, Ohio

Position Summary:
  • This is a hands-on position that is part of the Production Team in a plant manufacturing setting.
  • The person will have the ability to change shifts, work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • This person will be responsible for staging raw materials, running chemical processes and staging final product.
  • Other tasks include but not limited to; package labeling, preparation, repacking, and general sanitation and housekeeping.
  • This position will require working across all functions to ensure customer satisfaction including working with Development for successful scale-ups.
  • The position requires in-process analysis of products (GC, GC/MS, AV, KF, SG) with training.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the manufacturing of products in the assigned area, including reviewing run sheets, measuring raw materials, monitoring reactions and distillations, running in process tests, receiving product, closing out process orders.
  • Perform general housekeeping on the production floor including active participation in the master sanitation plan.
  • Assure that self is adhering to all Federal, State, local, and ADM policies on environmental, health, and safety. Participate in the site training program and site safety programs.
  • Have competency in all Federal, State, Local, and ADM Food Safety Regulations through on-the-job best practices and actively participating in training. Applications of HACCP as a key example.
Job Requirements:
  • Associate degree in technical/scientific area or 2-3 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or scientific area preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic
  • Be flexible, organized, and have the ability to multi-task
  • Adaptable in working hours; work overtime as necessary
  • Ability to trouble shoot processes and suggest improvements
  • Ability to follow all EHS procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to follow all Food Safety procedure and guideline
  • Ability to wear a respirator
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull 600 pounds
