Full-time General Labor Grain

Job Description

  1. Assist in the operation of grain handling equipment, including conveyors, elevators, augers, and grain dryers, to receive, store, and load/unload grain commodities such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and barley.
  2. Perform routine tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning grain bins, storage facilities, and work areas to maintain a safe and clean environment for grain handling operations.
  3. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and front-end loaders to transport grain, load trucks or railcars, and move equipment within the grain facility.
  4. Monitor grain quality and condition during receiving, storage, and loading operations, conducting visual inspections, temperature checks, and moisture testing as needed to ensure product integrity.
  5. Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, and other transportation vehicles, following safety protocols and proper procedures to prevent spills, accidents, or contamination.
  6. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines for grain handling and storage, including proper handling of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
  7. Support inventory management activities, including grain sampling, bin measurements, and inventory counts, to track grain quantities, monitor inventory levels, and facilitate accurate record-keeping.
  8. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and truck drivers to coordinate grain receiving, storage, and loading activities, ensuring efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies in all aspects of job performance, including proper handling of hazardous materials, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping.
  10. Participate in training programs and safety meetings to enhance job skills, knowledge of grain handling procedures, and awareness of safety practices.
